How bidding works

A real first-option system, not just a queue of numbers.

01

Place a bid

Browse properties open to bidding and place yours. The seller sees every bid on their property, but you never see anyone else's.

02

Seller accepts

If the seller accepts your bid, you get first option to buy; only one bid can be accepted per property at a time, so this is a real, exclusive offer.

03

View, or sign the waiver

View the property in person before committing, or, if you're confident enough to skip that, sign the waiver. Signing it means the choice to commit sight-unseen is genuinely yours, not something housebid is responsible for.

04

Commit

Once you've viewed or waived, you can commit. The property moves to sold, and the sale proceeds from there.

Not ready to bid?

Properties can also be listed traditionally, no bidding required. You can always switch to bidding later, and if a traditional listing gets real interest, we'll let you know.
